3. Paternity Leave
Expectant fathers or partners may be entitled to Paternity Leave. To be eligible for Paternity Leave an employee must be deemed a relevant parent which are the biological father of the child, the partner (spouse, civil partner or cohabitant) of the mother of the child or the parent of a donor conceived child.
In the case of adoptions, the relevant parent is the parent who is not the qualifying adopter for adoptive leave.
An employee may take two consecutive weeks' Paternity Leave. Leave can be taken within 6 months of the birth or placement of the child. If the employee is eligible for Paternity Leave, they will be entitled to Paternity Pay for the 2 weeks from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social...
